no guru

there is no guru

anywhere ever

not you not me not he not she

hard words to hear

if you pretend

to hear them

with self-ish ears

but there is no self

anywhere ever

only clear ears

and these words

dancing

through them

~ ~ ~

the alone

the alone

is never

lonely

the alone

is singularly

singular

the alone

appearing as

everything

never appears

as anything

the alone

is what any

thing is

you are

nothing

other than

this only

and singularly

and un-lonely

alone

~ ~ ~

prayer is

prayer is

to whom when

there’s nothing

other than

this

this is

to whom when

there’s no way

other than

prayer

prayer is

not to any god

who or where

would a god

be

prayer is

very plainly

regardless of god

very causelessly

and ceaselessly

so

~ ~ ~

mountain dust

dust seems low

only to self

dust is not low

a mountain peak seems high

only to self

a mountain peak is not high

a body

turns to dust

and the mind

might dwell on dust

and dust

might join

a mountain peak

all is presently well

only unreal self

would seek a peak

or avoid some dust

all is presently well

 no enlightenment

there’s no

enlightenment

why

there’s no one

to get or be

enlightened

like master

seung sahn

says

wanting it is

a big mistake

tear to pieces

or unravel

your

big mistake

find out

who am i

what am i

~ ~ ~

it’s all bulls-eye

don’t miss

~ ~ ~

let

don’t

be

only

an echo

be

the voicing

you already are

don’t be ever

a mere impression

be

the hand

strumming

the strings

let i

speak

deeply its

present end

let every you

be swallowed by

never
