In Spite of All Your Searching
In spite of all your searching, Awareness will remain the
unbroken continuity within all your seeking - or your lack
thereof.
A Recognition of this innate Awareness can arise spontaneously,
without warning, and without any deliberate effort or practice.

Presence is a quality of welcoming, open awareness, which is
dedicated simply to "what is." There can still be
someone who is aware and there is that of which they are
conscious - the sound of running water, the taste of tea, the
feeling of fear, or the weight and texture of sitting on a
seat." And then there can be a letting go of the one who is
aware, and all that remains is presence. All of this is totally
without judgment, analysis, the wish to reach a conclusion, or to
become anything. There is no mentation and no expectation. There
is simply "what is."

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes
within the souls of people when they realize their relationship,
their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when
they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka
(the Great Spirit), and that this center is really everywhere, it
is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are
but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals,
and the third is that which is made between two nations. But
above all you should understand that there can never be peace
between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I
have often said, is within the souls of men.
